Well, this one was super easy, as we’ve received an overwhelming number of requests for these guys (and gal) since they first submitted their music to us. By popular demand, this week’s Band of the Week is A Hero Falls.

A Hero Falls has had the #1 song in the Radio OPIE People’s Choice Countdown for four of the last five weeks (From Our Eyes)!

About the band: We’re a female fronted alt-rock band from Howell, MI. The five of us have been playing music together for years, but we officially started writing and recording music in early 2009. After recording several demos, and playing dozens of shows, we’ve released our first EP “Stable Ground” in June of 2011. We have been featured on The Basement – Impact 88.9FM, The Livingston Daily, Radio-Opie.com and HowellMainFour.com.

We chose the name Stable Ground because it reflects on the fact that we’ve finally reached a point where we have a defined sound that suits our personalities and is true to ourselves.

It is always hard to describe the way a band sounds. So instead of comparing us to other bands I will just tell you that we are a female fronted band, we feature dual guitar solos, and we appreciate catchy bass lines, and upbeat drum work. Our album is streaming for free on the website (aherofalls.com) for you to hear for yourself.

The name, A Hero Falls, is from a music video/score by John Williams for Episode III of Star Wars. We chose it because we’re all nerds at heart, and because the name fits for almost any music genre.
